ORC and One Design will open the 53rd Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Iberostar

The 53 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Iberostar for ORC and One Design will open the national cruising season at the Real Club Náutico de Palma between the 21st and 24th of March.

More than fifty boats have confirmed their participation in this regatta open to ORC classes (A2 and with full crew), and to the J/80, J/70, Dragon and 6M One Design classes. The event will be based at the Real Club Náutico de Palma and will be selective for the configuration of the Balearic crews participating in the Spanish Cruising Championship.

The One Design classes will be in charge of opening the rankings of the 53 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca Iberostar for ORC and One Design, with the first race scheduled for 13.00h on Friday, March 22nd. Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th will compete from 12.00h. All classes in this division will compete on W/L with a limit of three races per day.

The ORC regatta will officially start on the 22nd of March with registration, measurement and confirmation of entries. The races will be contested over the following two days starting at 12.00h. The competition programme will consist of a maximum of three races, one coastal and two W/L races. The ORC A2 division will sail only coastal courses.

The ORC and One Design competition will act as a prelude to the 53 Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Iberostar for Olympic classes, which will be held from 29th March to 6th April under the joint organisation of the Club Nàutic S'Arenal, the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Federación Balear de Vela, with the backing of World Sailing and the main Balearic public institutions.
