The episode focuses on the recent 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 World Championships in Nova Scotia, Canada. In the main feature, we hear from the newly-crowned 49erFX World Champions, the Dutch pair of Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz, and recap the action in all three classes.

  • In-depth look at the 53rd La Solitaire du Figaro multi-stage race
  • Feature on the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup
  • Interview with current Rolex World Sailor of the Year Tom Slingsby
  • Update on SailGP Season 3 - Saint-Tropez
  • Spotlight on the Inclusion World Championships in Rostock

The episode also features an interview with current Rolex World Sailor of the Year Tom Slingsby, currently leading Team Australia in Season 3 of SailGP where his team once again leads the fleet going into the second half of the season.

SailGP recently continued with the fifth leg in Saint-Tropez, France, and the World Sailing Show was there to capture the action. As well as hearing from Slingsby, there is an interview with Jimmy Spithill from Team USA ahead of his team's first event win and a look at how Team France set a new SailGP speed record of 99.94km/h.

Episode 5 also takes a look at the recent Inclusion World Championships in Rostock, Germany, where 25 inclusive teams from seven nations took to the water for four days of racing. The event was open to sailors with disabilities and their able-bodied partners and showed why sailing is such a unique sport.

Also featured is the 53rd La Solitaire du Figaro race which came to a thrilling conclusion this month at the final stage across the Bay of Biscay to the Spanish coast. The final leg may have been French skipper Tom Laperche's only win but it was certainly the most decisive as his consistency in the previous two legs and his determination and stamina saw 'La Porsche', as he is known by his fellow Figaro sailors, take overall victory.

The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the pinnacle of the International Maxi Association's race season, saw an excellent double win for Sweden with Svea winning the J Class Competition and the Swan 115 Shamanna winning the Super Maxi class, both with a day to spare. Episode 5 of The World Sailing Show recaps all the action.

Produced by Sunset+Vine and released every month, the World Sailing Show shares the latest news, events and captivating stories from across the sport with audiences around the world. Each episode is available to watch for free on the World Sailing YouTube channel and the World Sailing website.
