A weekend of average lap and pursuit racing at this picturesque location between Axbridge and Cheddar. Cheddar Reservoir is set in one of the most beautiful parts of Somerset, with Cheddar Gorge a short walk or drive away and Glastonbury Tor visible in the near distance.

7-8 May 2022 - POSH, Paignton SC

The famous Paignton Open for Single Handers (POSH) will provide some great coastal racing. POSH 2022 will also incorporate the Byte National Championships.

25-26 June 2022 - Bala Long Distance, Bala SC

Set in the stunning Snowdonia National Park, the established long-distance race is open to monohull dinghies, multihulls, and sports boats covering the length and breadth of Lake Bala.

25-26 June 2022 - Wilsonian River Challenge, Wilsonian SC

The Wilsonian River Challenge offers adventurous dinghy racers the chance to branch out and try something a bit different from the usual open meeting. The format is designed to make the best use of the tidal conditions on the Medway River in this hidden away corner of Kent.

6th August 2022 - Medway Marathon, Medway YC

The Medway Marathon is a long-distance race to the mouth of the River Medway and is set on a stretch of water of great historical significance. Dinghies with a Great Lakes handicap PY of 1315 or less are eligible to compete alongside the local keelboat fleets of International Dragons, National Sonatas and National Squibs.

The Great British Sailing Challenge is a series of handicap racing events that take place throughout the year, covering a variety of locations, race formats, and different water types. Competing sailors will earn ranking points from each event they compete in, with three events required to qualify for the overall rankings. There will also be various extracted ranking categories to reflect the great diversity of the UK small boat racing scene, including age, boat type, and for those classes that field 10+ boats, individual class rankings.

The series is managed by RestartSailing (RYA affiliated).

Entry is open for the earlier events: www.sailingchallenge.org
