Key Yachting is delighted to announce the launch of The Key Yachting J-Cup in association with B&G.

Taking place from Thursday 30 June to Saturday 2 July, the 2022 J-Cup will be hosted by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in Cowes, Isle of Wight where more than 60 teams are expected to attend the annual J-Boat event. Open to all J-Boat owners, the three-day regatta is one of the highlights of the racing calendar and this year we will see the inclusion of the J/70 and the J/109 National Championships.

Every year a huge range of J Boats, from 22ft to over 40 ft yachts are crewed by friends, family, and professional sailors, who battle it out against each other in organised one design and IRC Classes, on the waters of the Solent. A daily prize-giving, drinks reception and entertainment is part of the fun after racing and the regatta is bought to a close with the presentation of the coveted J-Cup trophy awarded at the Key Yachting J-Cup prize-giving on Saturday 2 July. Last year the J-Cup was awarded to Michael and Sarah Wallis who also won IRC class One on their J/122E "Jahmali".

The 23rd edition of the J-Cup Regatta will take on a new identity this year and will be proudly named: "The Key Yachting J-Cup in association with B&G ".

Hayley Quinn, Key Yachting's commercial director commented: "After experiencing the J-Cup regatta for the first time last year, we took the decision to bring the event home and under our wing. For over 20 years the J-Cup has been the event that brings the J-Boats family together and that is especially important in the current climate. The Key Yachting team is just as passionate about the regatta as the hundreds of sailors that will be taking part. We are determined to make it a fun and memorable event for everyone involved. The J-Boat community always delivers exciting racing, and we can't wait to see who comes out on top in 2022!"

The J-Cup has always had tremendous support from our marine industry partners and a large number of prize sponsors donate a mountain of prizes year on year, so that no team goes away empty-handed. In 2022 B&G will be hosting the regatta alongside Key yachting as the platinum event sponsor.

B&G® are proud to be title sponsor of the J-CUP. Since 2004, we have been supporting this event and it is great to see how it has developed and grown over the years, attracting more and more entrants, with a variety of sailing experience. It's always a great opportunity for us to be on hand at the event for technical support, but also to meet the sailors and get their feedback first hand on how they are using the B&G® products across the fleet, hear their stories, and of course enjoy the great atmosphere, and racing on show from these great yachts. Simon Conder, Global Head of Brand B&G.

North Sails have also continued their generous support for the regatta, once again offering on the water coaching, drone footage, and an overnight sail repair service. ''The J-Cup is a highlight event in the J-Boat racing calendar every year. North Sails is delighted to continue supporting the regatta in 2022 and beyond, and we can't wait to see you all there.'' Ben Saxton - North Sails expert

The Key Yachting team hopes you can join us for the 23rd staging of the J-Cup regatta and look forward to seeing you on the water very soon. Entries open via yacht scoring on Wednesday 22 December.
