Despite the political turmoil we have experienced recently in Australia, it's business as usual in the boating industry.

One of Australia's biggest boatbuilders, Riviera, are particularly busy with plans to exhibit at the Perth International Boat Show later this month and have announced new dealer appointments in the USA and Turkey. The Perth show will see the West Australian Premiere of the blue-water 52 Enclosed Flybridge from September 21 to 24. The display will also present the sophisticated 5400 and 3600 Sport Yachts.

Riviera have announced further expansion of its international dealer network with the appointment of Legendary Marine, based on the north-west coast of Florida in the United States, and has continued to grow its presence in the Mediterranean region with the appointment of Perfomax Marine to represent the Riviera and Belize marques in Turkey.

Australia's other major builder, Maritimo, have announced that the new X60 has impressed early, already generating wide international interest and sales prior to its USA premiere at the Annapolis United States Powerboat Show in early October.

On the sailing scene, the Danish builder X-Yachts describe the launch of their X-46 model. The first X46 was launched in the middle of August and test-sailed by the X-Yachts De-sign & Quality Crew with success. After test sailing, the first boat rushed off to boat shows in Scandinavia and Northern Germany. We link to the designer's comments further down in this newsletter.

In Australia the Eyachts dealership network continues to grow, introducing Brendon Grieve as the Perth distributor. Brendon Grieve has constructed a highly-recognised name for himself which is unsurprising for someone who has been working in the marine industry for 33 years.

Multihull importer Multihull Solutions have advised of a special incentive for multihull sellers. The special offer to sellers is three months free hardstand on new listings at its highly successful Out-Of-Water Boat Show on the Gold Coast. The deal presents an outstanding opportunity for boat sellers to save money while gaining excellent exposure for their vessel during the popular spring boat-buying season.

With summer approaching it's time to consider sun protection clothing while out on the water. Musto's Sunshield joins the Musto UV Fast Dry Collection, featuring pieces with a UPF rating and a highly wicking construction. Ultimate comfort and protection in one.
