Graham Bridle partners with Sail 4 Cancer on his 18ft Skiff

by Geoff Gritton, TB4E 25 Apr 2014 09:07 PDT 25 April 2014

Two time Cherub National Champion Graham Bridle has partnered up with Sail 4 Cancer in a bid to raise the charity's profile amongst the dinghy brigade and also to stretch his own sailing envelope. He will be assisted in this endeavour by his son Eddie, who will lower the average on the boat dramatically. The first outing was at the Rutland 18ft Skiff Grand Prix, where by all accounts they didn't embarrass themselves too much.

So this last weekend saw them come home to Brightlingsea and the sight of Mike Bees with a nappy harness on at the age of 53 and Graham, 50, and Eddie Bridle, 16, managed to keep the average age at just under 40 so well done Eddie.

They got speeds of up to 20k in 15k winds with the kite up. The metal bit stayed on top of the plastic bit and was deemed a good trip by all.

The Skiff will be appearing around the country at the various 18ft Skiff competitions. To quote Graham, "It's about raising awareness for Sail 4 Cancer, the boat is secondary"

Here is the video... Anything you can do will be appreciated.

As far as TB4E is concerned, we are totally committed to raising money for Sail 4 Cancer. The donate button won't get worn out if it keeps being hit.
