Scottish Solos Travellers at Loch Ard Sailing Club

The final round of the Willburn Homes Scottish Solos Traveller Series was held at Loch Ard Sailing Club in early October.

A fleet of 18 boats took to the Loch in a light variable breeze with Kevan Gibb of Largo Bay SC winning the first race from Barrie McLean of the home club and Andy Hutchison also from Largo Bay.

The second race had a stronger and steadier breeze once again Kevan and Barrie led the fleet home with Richard Bolton of East Lothian SC taking third, the third race was won by Ali Gordon of the Clyde Cruising Club followed by David Lombard of East Lothian with Kevan Gibb finishing in third.

Loch Ard Traveller Results:

1st Kevan Gibb (Largo Bay SC)
2nd Barrie McLean (Loch Ard SC)
3rd Ali Gordon (Clyde Cruising Club, Bardowie)

Kevan Gibb retains the travellers tile after another successful season which had an average of 17 boats racing at the six venues for the traveller’s series and 30 boats entering the Scottish Championships at North Berwick the venue for the 2009 Nationals.

9 locals joined by 13 visitors for Allen Solo Midland Series round 2 South Staffs SC welcomed visitors from across the region for round 2 of the Allen Solo Midland Series.
