KICKER Marine Audio heads west as sponsor on Lake Havasu's two main boating events

KICKER Marine Audio says, "Go Overboard!" bringing premium sound to the two largest Western powerboating events on Lake Havasu Arizona, Super Cat Fest West, April 17-22 and Anderson Powersports Desert Storm, April 24-27.

It will be back-to-back long weekends of fast-action boating, bringing performance boat enthusiasts to Lake Havasu City, a boating Mecca for the country's West Coast.

Super Cat Fest West, now in its second year, duplicates its sister event from Lake of the Ozarks event on Lake Havasu, with event producer Alvin Heathman, joined by sponsor River Dave of River Dave's Place. KICKER Marine Audio and DCB Performance Marine return as Title Sponsors for this "laid-back" fun and fund-raising event that capitalizes on the water access of Lake Havasu and the Colorado River and is open to all boats, not just catamarans. Last year over $200,000 was raised for charities that serve area children and schools and this year, a private donor has pledged to match up to $100,000 in donations so aspirations are high to serve Lake Havasu's children in need.

Says River Dave, "I have to thank KICKER Marine Audio and DCB. These guys took a chance on a first-year event last year, and I'm very humbled by that, but also very proud that they thought enough of it that they both immediately confirmed as Title Sponsors for 2024!"

Both companies will be highly visible on the street and in the water as Heathman says, "Lake Havasu is amazing—there is always something performance going on here—it's a giant playground and I think it is the perfect setting for a boating event."

Havasu Riviera Marina hosts the event with a boat ramp, dock and well over 100 boat slips and can accommodate the many visiting boats and trailers for a three-day street party with food trucks, vendors and entertainment. Fun runs include jaunts to The Nautical Resort and Pirate Cove Resort that culminate back to parties at Riviera Marina.

Wednesday, April 17 - 10 AM to 4 PM, Move in at Riviera Marina, continuing through Friday, April 18, 2 PM)

Parking Lot party includes a vendor village, trucks, boats, motorcycles and side by sides for an in-house show!

6-10 PM - Registration Party at the Pool Bar at The Nautical Resort.

Thursday, April 18 - 2 - 10 PM The "Street Scene" is open to the general public! (Assigned parking spots both in the parking lot and the Marina, for the weekend until Sunday at 10 am).

Friday, April 19 - Free Day of Boating! Tie up with friends, explore the lake, visit The Heat Hotel, enjoy Havasu Hospitality!

The Saturday evening party will feature an auction for $5,000 in KICKER Marine Audio sound equipment for Super Cat Fest for Kids. The event will benefit the "forgotten kids" of Lake Havasu and will give money directly to local schools for lunch programs that some underprivileged kids' families cannot afford. Local partners will ensure that the money goes directly to schools so needy kids will be fed.

Anderson Powersports Desert Storm, in its 26th year, known as "The Largest Performance Boating Event on the West Coast," follows SCFW where KICKER Marine Audio joins forces with Anderson Powersports Desert Storm as the presenting sponsor of the event for the 7th year in a row! Produced by DSM Events, consisting of veteran event producer Jim Russell and Lake Havasu realtor and prominent community leader, Steve Ticknor.

KICKER brings the "Livin' Loud" vibe to the biggest Street Party in Lake Havasu on Thursday, April 25th, where the leading sound company will again showcase its KICKER XRV and its "Boom Room"—a surround experience in feeling the power of sound— in the Eye of the Storm as well as additional displays along Havasu's Main Street.

Says Russell, "We are very thankful to have built such a great relationship with KICKER Marine Audio and look forward to working with them for many years to come. KICKER is highly involved in our 4-day event, from donating equipment for our charity auction benefitting the local Marine Corps League at our Welcome Party on Wednesday, to the outstanding showing of KICKER equipment at the Street Party Thursday, a premier card stop in the Friday Poker Run and the finish line boat during the Shugrues' Shootout on Saturday."

At both events, millions of dollars of state-of-the-art performance boats will showcase KICKER Marine Audio's Real Marine equipment. Eliminator Boats will be on hand, featuring a new 27' Fundeck, outfitted with KICKER, joined by the company's new 35' XSpeedster. Other sponsors include Elite Audio whose owner Jeff Cuvelier will show a plethora of KICKER Marine Audio in his 27' Southbay Tritoon, a 26' Cobra Venom and his always popular 26' Rinker that can carry the tunes for an entire cove! Ron's In Your Ear Audio, another authorized KICKER dealer and installers will also attend and is installing a boat-load of KICKER horn loaded tower speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers in Dan Murphy's new 26' Avalon Tritoon. Murphy started Murphco Inc. in 1985 and has long been KICKER's West Coast distributor. California-based Gatorwraps, whose owner, Rod Voegele is a KICKER fan, will be also there boating in his DCB F32 equipped to the max with KICKER Marine Audio components and with his own impressive show rig.

Wednesday, April 24 - 10 AM - The annual Kruisin' 4 A Kause features volunteer powerboaters with big engines and big hearts who take area residents with special needs on boat rides, culminating with lunch, entertainment, and treats at Lake Havasu State Park.

6-10pm Desert Storm Kick-off Party with Charity Auction & Raffle benefiting the Marine Corps League of Lake Havasu. (Both events are participants & sponsors only.)

Thursday, April 25 - 1- 9 PM - The Anderson Power Sports Desert Storm Street Party takes place on Lake Havasu's Main Street with KICKER Marine Audio's main display located in the "Eye of the Storm" with additional KICKER displays along McCulloch Boulevard. Vendors, manufacturers, display, and entertainment stretching 1.2 miles with thousands of people in attendance make this street party a vocal and focal point of the event!

Friday, April 26 - 10-11 AM - The Parade of Power will roar as performance boats travel from Thompson Bay through the Bridgewater Channel and under the London Bridge. The parade will be led by First Responders and the KICKER "Boom Toon" with the Condor Squadron flying vintage WW II military aircraft to begin the Poker Run with an aerial fly-by at 11 AM. A card turn in party will be held at the Desert Storm VIP tent from 5-8pm for participants and sponsors only.

Saturday, April 27 - 10:30 AM - 3 PM The exciting Shugrues' Shootout event, an intoxicating display of speed, takes place on a ¾ mile closed course with multiple boat classes, managed by Ross Wallach of RPM Racing Enterprises, will run from the Site Six Launch Ramp. The best fan viewing is from the island's surrounding bluffs.

At the Awards Banquet Saturday evening, the winners of Poker Run will be announced as well as the Shugrues' Shootout top speed title awards including the King or Queen of the Desert. Dinner, entertainment, prizes, and raffles will top off the event. KICKER Marine Audio is donating $10,000 in sound equipment to add to the event festivities.
