Oxford Blue to conclude a windy Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series

At the end of a predominantly windy Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series, the long-range forecast points towards light to moderate breezes for the Oxford Blue.

The Oxford Blue is set to bring this season's Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series to a close this coming Saturday, 17 February. With almost 70 boats from 36 classes already entered, it's set to be a busy race course on Farmoor Reservoir.

This is also the RS Aero Winter Championships and class stalwart Peter Barton is among the entries in the popular singlehander. So many different classes are represented, from the Albacore to the Vortex and a few rarities such as the Norfolk Punt Hardchine being sailed by Edward Clifford and Alex Standley.

Overall

A total of 446 boats have now achieved ranking points. After seven events, and three discards, Sam Pascoe (Musto Skiff - Castle Cove SC) with five wins dominates. Last winter's runner up Ben Flower (ILCA 7 - Paignton SC), holds onto to second and will be competing at Oxford after returning from his trip to the World Championships in Australia. Sam Barker (Musto Skiff - Castle Cove SC), jumps 12 places to 3rd overall.

Top Class

The results were very close at the Tiger Trophy penultimate round of the 2023/24 Seldén Sailjuice Winter Series with the Musto Skiffs a mere 4 points ahead of the 420s across all four races. With the Osprey Class completing the podium. Overall UKLA - ILCA UK ILCA 7 holds onto the top spot, from ILCA 7 and Musto Skiff up two places to third overall.

Top Club

At the Tiger Trophy, Draycote Water Sailing Club were just ahead of hosts Rutland Sailing Club and Burghfield Sailing Club third for Selden SailJuice Winter Series Round 7. Overall, Draycote Water Sailing Club is still top, with Bowmoor Sailing Club up one to second, and defending champions Great Moor Sailing Club third.

Final event in the series
