The integration enables boaters to control Mercury autopilots directly from select Lowrance and Simrad displays and includes new features like Auto Heading, Route/Waypoint Tracking and Active Trim. The integration requires installation of the Mercury Joystick Autopilot system.
• Auto Heading simplifies navigation by allowing boaters to maintain their current heading, making minor adjustments directly from Lowrance and Simrad displays, as needed.
• With the Track Route/Track Waypoint feature, the Mercury autopilot will automatically navigate a selected route or to a waypoint when Navigate Route or Go To waypoint commands are initiated on compatible Lowrance and Simrad displays.
• Active Trim automatically adjusts the trim of compatible outboards and sterndrive engines based on the speed and direction of the vessel, increasing fuel economy and producing an overall better boating experience. Active Trim requires installation of the Mercury Active System.
“Boat integration is a major focus for us and we are excited to add this new functionality to Lowrance and Simrad displays,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “Integrating Mercury autopilot and trim control into our displays gives users immediate access to vital vessel controls without the need for additional displays. Everything you need to control the boat is easily within reach and makes for a safe and enjoyable on-the-water experience for our customers.”
