The most breathable, technical jacket Henri-Lloyd have ever made

Back when I took part in the Henri-Lloyd Frostbite Challenge in Sweden, as a crew we wore the M-Pro Smock and Salopette combination. We had two days of sunshine, but December in Marstrand is cold... really cold! Sailing J/70s we needed kit that was ultra-lightweight, gave us freedom of movement yet provided the warmth needed for the biting temperatures which rarely went above freezing and the sea which was hovering around 2 degrees Celsius.

The M-Pro kit did exactly that with a tailored fit reducing bulk to an absolute minimum and Gore-Tex material providing the essential breathability, windproofing and water resistance. It was a great moment hitting the dock after racing feeling elated from the sailing rather than wanting to run into a hot shower. The kit we wore made our experience and time on the water more enjoyable. Surely that's what we all strive for with our precious time?

It's not often we sail in freezing conditions such as Sweden in December, and when in warmer climes the waterproof protection isn't always the priority, but the ultra-thin insulated wind protection is absolutely key, and this is where the 2020 M-Race collection excels. The M-Race Jacket takes this to a new level thanks to Gore-Tex Infinium™, the latest fabric from the most respected material brand in the business. This is a jacket that provides you with comfort on the water and style on the shore - perfect for day sailors and regatta racers who can enjoy a full day on the water without having to switch to a different jacket once ashore.

Besides the fabric and fit, the detailing demonstrates the thought which has gone into this product: YKK AquaGuard® zippers, seam sealed, reflective logos on the chest, back and sleeves, two external pockets and Velcro adjustment on the sleeves all make for the complete summer jacket.

Quite simply, the M-Race Jacket is the most breathable, technical jacket that Henri-Lloyd have ever made.

Sir Ben Ainslie has been wearing the M-Race Jacket recently and had this to say about it: "The jacket is an excellent fit, but what makes it stand out is that it is incredibly breathable. I was told it was a new concept and was a little sceptical as to whether you would be able to tell the difference, but it is impressively comfortable to wear and will no doubt become a firm favourite."

A lot is made of 'crossover' garments and with the Gore-Tex Infinium™ technology originally being developed for hiking and cycling, the M-Race Jacket is ideal for your active lifestyle. Sailors regularly taking part in many other outdoor activities, often as a mode of transport to get to their boat, can eliminate the need to bring a change of clothing when going sailing.
