While the state of Victoria has experienced an upturn in the number of new Covid-19 cases, the rest of Australia is looking forward to the re-opening of state borders. Meanwhile the industry is coping in the best way possible.

However, one organisation that needs assistance now is the 'Making Waves Foundation'. Without an immediate injection of funds, the organisation is in danger of closing. Read more here www.makingwavesfoundation.com.au/donate or call 0421 725 170 to make your tax deductible investment before June 30.

We continue to bring you video interviews between Sail-World Managing Editor, Mark Jardine, and prominent business members. Today Mark chats with Chips Howarth from Cyclops Marine, a company involved with wireless sensor technology. Founded in September 2018, Cyclops Marine brings together this technology and sailing expertise, with the aim to be the industry standard in yacht load sensing. Cyclops sensors are designed to be used in a marine environment, developed with customers in mind.

The worldwide pandemic has increased the awareness and value of video presentation and manufacturers are using the media to demonstrate their products across a wide range of subjects. Quick Spa, an international leader in the production of nautical equipment, launched a new video on its thruster systems "Quick Thruster Systems - Docking has never been easier". The video tells how their manoeuvring systems assist the boat owner in all the mooring phases for a comfortable, easy to manage and safe use of the boat. Quick manoeuvring systems offer a product portfolio that includes different types of thrusters and accessories. The thruster can also be used as an active part of the system as it's able to connect simultaneously both to control system and to propulsion motor.

And the RIB market will be enhanced with an upgrade from the world's leading aluminium RIB supplier, Highfield Boats. Highfield has announced a huge range upgrade as it looks to the future of the RIB and support tender sector. Highfield is doubling down on a growth strategy with a raft of new model launches to target new markets along with a refinement of its current extensive portfolio, plans which look set to give the firm a strategic edge. Despite the difficult global trading conditions of the past few months a strong Q1 for 2020 and a solid order book until July has given Highfield the confidence to forge on with the expansion plans which include the launch of an entirely new range of cutting-edge luxury boats.
