With the last yacht departed today the World ARC 2019-20 has officially left Namibia.

The optional stopover in Walvis Bay has been greatly appreciated, participants enjoyed the area, went on tours in the desert with quad bikes and 4x4, rented cars and explored the area: Dune7 the highest dune in the world, the Flamingo Lagoon and Swakopmund a typical German Town only 20 min north of Walvis Bay.

The fleet anchored just in front of the Walvis Bay Yacht Club, Theo, the Commodore, Danel the secretary and the whole staff have been very welcoming and helpful. On Thursday participants gathered together for a sundowner and a dinner at the YC restaurant, during the sundowner skippers exchanged burgees with the Commodore and donated a World ARC poster and a flag signed by all participants to thank Walvis Bay Yacht Club for the great hospitality.

Meanwhile in Saint Helena, the first World ARC yachts have arrived, with few more expected during the week, and the last World ARC yachts still in Cape Town will be leaving during the next days.
