DutchCraft 56 Open and Cabin: two styles, unlimited potential

by Alexander Razinkov 11 Sep 2019 23:43 PDT 10-15 September 2019

The DutchCraft 56, the world's most capable 56-foot yacht, has made its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019, in Open and Cabin models, adapting to how yachtsmen enjoy time on the water.

The DutchCraft 56 (DC56) has been designed with versatility and enjoyment in mind. The 17-metre yacht is equipped for both global adventures and everyday cruising, thanks to the vision of DutchCraft Owner and Founder Sietse Koopmans. Inspired by time spent on board his own superyacht, Koopmans imagined a 56-foot yacht with incredible storage capacity that could take on any location, any conditions and any social setting, in total comfort and safety.

"The DC56 is the Swiss Army knife of boats," said Floris Koopmans, Marketing Coordinator at DutchCraft. "Want to take your guests on a diving or fishing expedition? It has you covered with ample space for kit storage right by the water, and four comfortable cabins for accommodation. Have a special event you want to celebrate with 40 friends? Bring on the DJ and dancefloor, with three levels of social space and an enormous aft deck. Feel the need for speed with some fun inflatables or jetskis? There is so much room to store them all. Guests will feel like they are on a superyacht."

The two styles of the DC56 offer a range of customizable deck features and layouts, with a no-nonsense, robust and practical design based on an innate understanding of how owners operate and enjoy their yachts. Promising a worry-free and economical ownership experience, both the DC56 Open and Cabin are easily cleaned and maintained, with low running costs. Guests can enjoy thrilling speeds of over 40 knots in comfort with minimal turbulence, thanks to the high-performance composite hull designed and engineered by DutchCraft's in-house expert team.

"We are very proud of what we have achieved with the DC56, and by offering clients a choice of Open and Cabin models, we can deliver an experience that is even better tailored to their needs," comments Floris Koopmans. "Visitors at the Cannes Yachting Festival are going to be blown away by how versatile and capable this yacht can be. The DC56 will be a real game-changer for the market."

DC56 Open: Immerse yourself into life on the water

With a robust look, the DC56 Open puts those on board at the heart of the action, without barriers to the surroundings. The exposed layout of the main deck allows free movement between the various social spaces on all three exterior levels, from the expansive aft deck below to the flybridge above. Unimpeded by windows and walls, guests can take in the full surroundings with 360-degree panoramic views of the stunning marine landscape.

DC56 Cabin: A haven of comfort and style

The DC56 Cabin maintains the adventurous spirit at the core of DutchCraft's DNA, while providing a climate controlled social space on the main deck, for a more sheltered and protected experience. Large tinted windows, unhindered by mullions, offer views of the surroundings, while expanded U-shaped seating around the dining table is a central space for guests to convene. Whether you expect to be travelling to colder - or indeed hotter - climates, or simply prefer the comfort of air-conditioned surroundings, the DC56 Cabin provides a haven from the elements.

Two distinctive styles, the same smart design

Aside from the central section of the main deck, the two models of the DC56 share identical layouts. The flybridge features a dining table, with seating that converts to a large sun pad to the rear. There is a wet bar and double-width seating at the navigation station.

On the main deck, the DC56 Cabin has a table with two cushioned benches in the space between the steps from the lower aft deck and the enclosed cabin. A compact galley to the aft of the enclosed space is practically located, while the aforementioned large table and U-shaped seating in the centre of the room are adjacent to the navigation station with double-width seating.

The main deck of the DC56 Open has a single, raised bench seat facing a wet bar at the top of the steps from the lower aft deck. The main table behind the navigation station (also with double-width seating) has two further cushioned benches for seating.

Large sun pads on the foredeck of both models of the yacht offer relaxed lounging at anchor or a thrilling perspective while under way. In total, there is seating for up to 40 guests on board on the DC56 Cabin version and up to 36 guests on the Open.

On the lower deck, there is modern, comfortable and easily maintained accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins. For day-to-day practicalities, the yacht is equipped with a dishwasher, a freezer, a wine cooler, an icemaker, and two fridges. Particular attention has been paid to high ceiling height on the lower deck, giving a sense of space and comfort, while noise and vibration have been minimised to provide a smooth and silent environment.

On both versions of the DC56, the vast aft deck space by the waterline lends itself to all manner of uses, from fishing platform to socialising space to stowage place for toys and watercraft - even a submersible. At the sides of this deck, two large benches conceal oversized locker units (6m x 1.65m and 3m x 1.65m) that provide storage for watersports gear and other items, on a scale that is practically unheard of in this yacht size category. Approximately 16 full diving sets can be stored here, or any kind of watersports equipment from surfboards and SUPs to wakeboards and inflatable slides. For fishing enthusiasts, fighting chair, outrigger, bait well, kill box and fish hold options are all available. Should you need to access the engine room quickly and easily, the aft deck hatch can be opened in an instant.

The DutchCraft DC56 is also available in commercial version with John Deere Engines and Doen jets that allows for 30.000-hour service intervals.
