The people of the Bahamas have always been warm, kind and inviting to the Shurhold family who considers it their second home. The devastation Hurricane Dorian has brought to the islands is unimaginable: stories, pictures and videos simply cannot capture how bad it truly is.

In response, Shurhold has identified six charities it will be donating to over the next two years who have plans in place to get help where it's needed most. It encourages others to do the same.

Since 2015, the HeadKnowles Foundation has been helping hurricane recovery efforts. It has mounted a huge team and fundraising effort to help all the areas of the Bahamas that have been affected by Hurricane Dorian. Donate here.

Stuart Sailfish Club is a local fishing club that frequently visits and fishes the Bahamas. They are partnering with Stuart Jet Center, Joe Rieger of Blue Marlin Cove and Captain Patrick Price of Day Maker Charters to bring immediate relief supplies to Bahamian residents. Donate here.

AEX Dorian Relief Effort is helping the people of Little Grand Cay. Carl and Gigi Allen of Allen Exploration will be matching the first $250,000 raised, so it's a great opportunity to give back to this community. Donate here.

Donations to the Abaco-Winding Bay Relief Fund will have double the impact as Joseph Deitch, chairman of Southworth Development, has pledged to match the first $1M raised through this charity. Donate here.

Green Turtle Cay was almost completely destroyed and will need to be completely rebuilt. Green Turtle Cay Foundation will use funds for the restoration of the island and aid to its people in the recovery effort. Donate here.

Hope Town was one of the hardest-hit areas with 30% of all structures demolished and the rest severely damaged. All docks and boats are also destroyed. Donating directly to Hope Town Fire & Rescue is the most immediate way to help this community. Donate here.
