Astondoa, the legendary Spanish Shipyard is again presented by G Marine, "The European Yacht Boutique," at the Miami Yacht Show, Entrance 4-5 on Collins Avenue Ex 9A, 9T (across from the Fountainebleau Hotel). Astondoa, marks the American debut of a newly designed 80 Flybridge, shown for the first time in Cannes last September. In addition, returning is the Astondoa 66 Flybridge, now added to the model lineup after its Miami debut last year. Previously called the GLX, the company felt the new name, Flybridge, more clearly defines the model line.

Astondoa

Though Astondoa has built yachts for over 100 years, the custom shipyard keeps a young image through its upbeat, in-house design team who adds modern features, finishes and materials that attract the fashionable and youthful attitude of its customer. G Marine, as Astondoa's exclusive dealer, is known as the European yacht specialist and knows its client base as well as its boat persona.

Creating Yachts for Today's Yachting Lifestyle.

"Astondoa traditionally appeals to the European market and is adapting its design and building skills to appeal to the American and Latin market," says Alberto Galante, G Marine CEO, who has operated the G Marine branded dealership in Florida for over 7 years. G Marine represents various brands of European yachts and came from California to Florida to bring new lines to the U.S. market.

"We are finding more families and larger groups are traveling together on a yacht, creating the need for more expansive living and play space, entertaining options and casual lifestyles, filled with watersports and excursions," says David Galante, COO, "The use of the outdoor space and bringing the outdoors in, with vast windows and open decks, provides an efficient use of space and light that is appreciated by boaters who want the full experience of the sea. Astondoa's designers achieve that in its new flybridge yachts."

80 Flybridge

When G Marine first brought Astondoa to the U.S., the key attraction was the shipyard's capabilities for total customization. This advantage is clearly proven in the new 80 Flybridge, constructed to the likes and lifestyle of the Latin owner who commissioned the yacht. The new open galley provides an unobstructed view from the salon door to the bow, further enhanced by moving the lower helm station from port to starboard, forward of the day-head.

This new layout reflects the desire to expand the entertainment area, so everyone can enjoy food, drink, music and conversation, from the interior helm to the aft deck.

Another new addition to the 80 Flybridge is the sweeping, expansive window line that provides much additional natural light to the salon, but most notably to the 4 luxurious cabins, including a large master, two queens and a bunk, all with en suite heads, all with every creature comfort.

The typically roomy flybridge welcomes guests to join the captain above, feel the breeze and enjoy lounging, dining and entertainment while underway or at dock, with and without cover. The louvered hardtop provides additional ventilation and its angled supports create a racy profile, complementing the yacht's aerodynamic, sleek lines and colors are customized to the boater's preference.

The bright interior features warm colors, textures and materials with darker wood accents, creating contrasts that emphasize the modern furnishings and cabinetry. Granite and marble counters complement chrome railings and deep honey colored leather upholstery throughout the salon, deck and flybridge. The aft lower deck, while covered for shaded lounging and entertainment is offset by the expansive bow sun pad with a retractable Bimini top and a spacious teak swim platform. A sizable engine room and crew quarters provide space for easy operation and for the MAN 12V diesel engines that power the 80 Flybridge to cruising range of 400 knots at speeds of 26 knots and top speed of 32 knots.

66 Flybridge

The 66 Flybridge was added to the range to accommodate the boater who wants to grow from 40-50' to include more guests but still enjoy the option of captaining. Crew quarters for 2 are provided which can also double as a guest cabin while the owner has the helm. The 66 Flybridge can fit on most backyard docks and suits the needs of a single captain or owner-operator while offering the option for crew.

With 4 staterooms plus 3 heads, the 66 Flybridge easily cruises for overnights in pure comfort. A large swim platform can hold a tender, PWC or paddleboards, and generous sun pads also make it an ideal day boat for watersports, excursions and island hopping. The flybridge with a BBQ grill, bar and room for a group of friends and family-as well as storage of water toys and gear makes this boat feel like a bigger yacht.

All furnishings are designed and built at Astilleros Astondoa, utilizing top technology along with fine craftsmanship and materials, customized to the smallest detail. The 66 Flybridge is powered by two CAT C-18 1150 engines.
