I'm not sure what the forum rules are regarding trade and advertising, but if by some small commercial gain, we continue to enjoy the forum maybe with some future enhancements, it wouldn't be a great inconvenience, personally I quite enjoy reading about new products, having said that, I'd sooner see them, and they'd be more effective if they were in a dedicated zone I reckon.
That way we none commercial folk don't have to feel slightly uneasy about offering ourselves as a 'market' rather than a discussion group. I'm not commercial here, but I could so easily be, it would get very boring indeed but as things stand I still feel it's taking the piss a bit since I don't advertise, but if there were a subscription area, not sure how you'd do it, can't imagine it would be to difficult, we have one on the Kiteboarder forum I frequent, it's something I could join if I felt it relevant.

It could also elicit more informed posts from the seething silence that is often the business, we know they're out there serial lurking, we know they hate all the bollox, but maybe in a controlled area, there might be more stuff to talk about, I don't think we should be prevented from commenting good or bad, that's the whole purpose of discussion groups and it does offer albeit a slightly perverse market research (perverse in that mostly y'all are doddery old wood botherers )
