New Zealander, Round the World Powerboat record holder and anti-whaling activist Peter Bethune has been arrested in Japan after being held on the whaling vessel he boarded last month. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society member has been charged with trespassing after boarding the Shonan Maru 2 - the ship which collided with the Ady Gil in the Southern Ocean.

Mercury Marine president Mark Schwabero and racing guru Fred Kiekhaefer held a press conference at the 2010 Miami International Boat Show to introduce what Fred calls 'Quadzilla'. This is a new engine from Mercury Racing and it is a totally custom block with a Formula One-style cross-tied crankshaft to handle huge power. The engine is called the Mercury 1300 in honor of the 1300 hp it produces.
