Thousands will flock to the emirate of Fujairah to witness the best of the best in the watersports arena. That’s the goal of Rooster Tail – the sports and entertainment company that signed a ground-breaking partnership with the Fujairah International Marine Club at the Novotel hotel in Fujairah today.

The three-year agreement will see Rooster Tail Sports and Entertainment tasked with promoting Fujairah as the go-to destination for international watersports. This will involve bringing high-profile international events to the east coast city of the United Arab Emirates, including sports such as sailing, rowing, surfski, kite surfing and powerboating.

Also part of the deal is the development and promotion of corporate sailing events as well as the support to grow further the Youth Training Centre at the Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) which was launched in October 2016. This centre, which targets students under 15, offers instruction on sailing, motorboating and a variety of subjects related to the sports, such as water safety, respect for the environment, engines and boat parts.

Present at the announcement of this agreement today were Major Ahmed Ibrahim, Managing Director of FIMC, as well as Sid Bensalah – the man behind the rapidly growing Rooster Tail Sports and Entertainment.

“This is an exciting day for the emirate of Fujairah. Rooster Tail have a long history of staging successful international watersports events and FIMC believe that this partnership is a massive step forward in bringing that success to Fujairah,” said Ibrahim.

“Not only will the emirate be put firmly on the international watersports events map, so attracting thousands of visitors to the area, but we are certain this will grow many sports such as sailing, kite surfing and surfski locally as well,” he added.

Bensalah, Founder and Executive Director of Rooster Tail Sports and Entertainment, said: “We are certainly looking forward to working with FIMC in the coming months and years as we look to develop watersports in the region – and also bring many top competitors to Fujairah’s shores.

“Already we have several exhilarating events in the pipeline and we will be making further announcements regarding these in the near future.

“Fujairah is an ideal location for such events – with the facilities available at FIMC and the passionate local fans, as well as the pristine coastline which provides a unique canvas for international watersports events,” added Bensalah.

Rooster Tail Sports and Entertainment is a full-service sports management, marketing and events company based in the Middle East. Founded by sports event and hospitality industry professionals and with over 20 years’ experience in the region, the company has an in-depth knowledge of the Middle East market and a wealth of experience working with international federations, government bodies, sponsors, athletes, hotels and other stakeholders.

FIMC, meanwhile, was founded in 1999 and remains the only facility of its kinds on the east coast of the UAE, re-defining the role of marine services and watersports in the region.
