One of the 'new generation' of Hudson Bay luxury sedan cruisers, the Hudson Bay 390, has struck a chord with buyers with the first of the new model selling upon release.

The first 390 has sold to a Queensland couple and will be moored at Bribie Island north of Brisbane. The vessel features chic interior styling and design forged in collaboration between Italian designer Patrizio Facheris Yacht and Product Design Studio, based in the USA, and the Gold Coast based Clipper Motor Yachts team headed by Brett Thurley.
'The Hudson Bay 390 is a big volume, semi-displacement cruiser, which is perfect for couples or young families and with a base price of $549,000 it hits the sweet spot for a large section of the boating public,' said Clipper's Motor Yacht's Managing Director Brett Thurley.
The vessel has a length overall of 12.9 metres and a beam of four metres so as a single level entertaining platform it is unbeatable, said Thurley.
It is modeled along the same lines as the previously released Hudson Bay 540 and comes in either a one or two cabin configuration. Single Volvo D4 300 horsepower engine and Garmin 12 inch plotter and sounder is standard. A hopper style window between the rear positioned galley and the cockpit opens up the entire boat for entertaining. A bow thruster and side door at the helm position makes for easy of maneuvering.
'In the single cabin configuration we are able to separate the toilet and shower to either side of the companionway and this obviously creates more space in each, as well as offering more privacy aboard' said Thurley.
'The twin cabin option provides upper and lower bunks and is perfect for children.'
He said the Hudson Bay 390 was perfect for boaties who had to negotiate bridges to get to their home pontoons and had a full length keel providing protection for the running gear.
The vessel has a panoramic sunroof standard and the galley features a full height domestic style refrigerator. The cockpit features built in lounges and a large dining table.
It also comes with an optional hydraulic swim platform and teak decking in the cockpit. 'This is a great entertainer’s boat and while the exterior has a bit of a retro look the interior is ultra-modern and has the hallmarks of the Italian flair that Patrizio is renowned for,' said Thurley.
'It is the perfect boat for cruising on Sydney Harbour or the waters of the Gold Coast and Moreton Bay.
'The single level living and entertaining space is quite large and this has broad appeal.' We think the Hudson Bay 390 will resonate well with Australian boaties as we have focused on a beamy semi-displacement design and entertaining layouts.'
Clipper Motor Yachts has a range of Hudson Bay single level, semi-displacement cruisers stretching from 36 feet to 64 feet. The vessels come with a three year warranty on the hull and five years on the engines.
'We expect quite a deal of interest in the Hudson Bay range at the upcoming Gold Coast Boating Expo in March and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show following that,' he said.
