Changed boating conditions for ski race on Clarence River

by Roads and Maritime Services Media Unit on 2 Apr 2014
. .
Boaters are advised to keep clear of a section of the Clarence River this Saturday and Sunday for the safe staging of waterski races.

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence on the river from Corcoran Park in Kirchner Street at Grafton for a distance of about 3.5 kilometres downstream on both days from 8am to 5pm.

The area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.

Skippers should avoid this area as it will be closed to recreational and commercial boating for safety reasons.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.

Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in craft under 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.

Now it is also true that it’s made even more so because it was Italian designers Nuvolari and Lenard that gave the vessel her smart looks to match the words from their language. However, reigning supreme over it all is that the craft stays true to the original premise of what the term actually means.

Check them before you leave harbor for condition and if they have an expiration date, be sure they are current. Their intended purpose is to summon help should the need arise and should be displayed only when immediate or potential danger exists.
