A veteran of 23 events to date, Leigh Francis from All Marine Spares says the event is a highlight on the marketing calendar for his business and this year, seven of his crew will be accompanying him to the Gold Coast to man the stand at the 25th annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 23-26 May.

On display will be the new model Craftsman engines, 80 and 65hp diesels, as well as brand new and revolutionary products Leigh sourced at METS and IBEX in 2012.

The Craftsman brand has been garnering excellent feedback for four years since All Marine Spares began stocking its range of engines.

'They are a sophisticated motor and meet all the emission requirements, yet they are simple and cheap to maintain. They run smoothly, they’re reliable, not super high-tech. They do deliver good performance and are very economical to run, both in consumables and maintenance.'

They will be showing the new range of ATI hot water heaters for boats, imported from Italy, with a size to suit all styles and sizes of boats.

Also at SCIBS this year, All Marine Spares will also have a brand new range of cables and controls from Italian manufacturer Flexball, which boasts a background in high-tech aviation and industrial control systems.

'It’s an exemplary brand of very well priced European products, which will compete with anything on the market,' explains Leigh, adding that on display and functioning at Sanctuary Cove will be the new product by Flexball and All Marine Spares – a fly-by-wire control system, ideal for throttle and gear selection.

'It’s a state of the art electric wire system that actuates the controls, meaning you don’t have to run cables the length of the boat. This is the first time something like this is available in Australia and it will be very, very competitively priced.'

In the high traffic area on the marina edge at the end of the Promenade, the expert team from All Marine Spares will be on hand at SCIBS to demonstrate all the latest range of top-line products.

Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht - Just move with the times
Honestly. I cannot tell you how well it works, because I simply never used it! Honestly. I cannot tell you how well it works, because I simply never used it! No. Not the boat itself... I actually spent many enjoyable hours on board Riviera’s delightful 4800 Sport Yacht. Right. What I was referring to was the autopilot, and the reason for that lies in the very sentence immediately preceding this one. Enjoyment.

Maritimo - Summa Cum Lauda (Pt II)
In Part One of Summa Cum Lauda, we got to look at Maritimo’s concept to production ideology. In Part One of Summa Cum Lauda, we got to look at Maritimo’s concept to production ideology. We saw how it drives everything from a design and engineering point of view, as well as provide for all the members of the crew to have a perfection first mentality when performing their tasks. In Part Two we now look at customisation, competitors, as well as a new and big ‘something’.

Maritimo - Summa Cum Lauda (Pt.I)
There is no spelling mistake there. Using Lauda, not Laude, is absolutely intended. There is no spelling mistake there. Using Lauda, not Laude, is absolutely intended. Also, the meaning is identical to the Latin, with the greatest honour. However, our specific reference is to the Austrian F1 Ace, Niki Lauda, and pays homage to the former World Champion’s complete dedication to engineering prowess, and the ability to then back that up on the racetrack.

Debbie says the 8thP with Insurance is Patience (Pt.III)
We’re back to keep exploring the nature of TC Debbie and how she came to tell us about the eighth P of insurance We’re back to keep exploring the nature of TC Debbie and how she came to tell us about the eighth P of insurance. We’ve looked at what it was like to come into a disaster zone, seen the evidence of those that did the right thing, and how the area is already on the road to recovery. Now we’ll see why patience is the key in the aftermath of her fury.

Beneteau GT40 – Two words, one powerful acronym, and a hell of a boat!
So yes, it is all so very apt with Beneteau’s super sleek Gran Turismo 40 So yes, it is all so very apt with Beneteau’s super sleek Gran Turismo 40. Now it is also true that it’s made even more so because it was Italian designers Nuvolari and Lenard that gave the vessel her smart looks to match the words from their language. However, reigning supreme over it all is that the craft stays true to the original premise of what the term actually means.

This all stems from the learnings in the widely read, ‘Debbie says there are 7 Ps and 1 C with insurance’. This all stems from the learnings in the widely read, ‘Debbie says there are 7 Ps and 1 C with insurance’. As time unfolds some more, we learn that indeed there are a lot of reasons you need to apply patience with both your dealings with your insurance company, and also all the many trades that are working feverishly to get all the jobs done.

Debbie says there are 7Ps and 1C with Insurance
Debbie says there are 7Ps and 1C with Insurance If you have been on the planet or around boats long enough, you’ll know all about the 7Ps. The one ‘C’ mentioned here refers to consequence, and in the legalese that surrounds insurance, it gets applied distinctly to consequential damage. We’ll come back to all of that in a while, but for now, our mission is to look at the consequences of actions prior to TC Debbie making landfall.

Securely moored to the quay, or cast adrift?
With boating, you have to cast the lines off in order to go and get into it. With boating, you have to cast the lines off in order to go and get into it. However, when it comes to your insurer, you kind of expect that they’re going to be as bound to you as the standing rigging is to the mast, the ring frames to the hull, or the engine mounts to the runners, and the propellers to the shafts, skegs and cutlass bearings. Whom would you rather be insured with?

Aquila 44 – Lots to love
As a craft, she is quite impressive. Even from the moment you approach her on the quay. As a craft, she is quite impressive. Even from the moment you approach her on the quay. There is something about the Aquila 44, her own je ne sais quoi, if you like. Proportionally she is just right, everything is in the correct place, and with a modern flair, yet one that is not going to date overnight. I think her presence is in her stance, which is kind of funny, given she is a cat.
