Sail-World.com : Boating News Editorial
Yes our sister publication is covering the Rolex Sydney to Hobart. Actually this is one of the larger Powerboat events on Sydney Harbour with hundreds of families out to watch the start and in many cases folowing the fleet south as far as Cronulla.
An interesting mix of news this week, Saddam's Superyacht, kites on merchant vessels and superyachts.
Mustang! Are you as wearied of reading that name as I am of writing it?
Well, I was hoping to report in this issue of Powerboat-World all the pros and cons of the new owner(s) of the Gold Coast boat manufacturer, which was placed into receivership on October 19. I can only say it still hasn’t come to fruition.
It’s only a matter of hours since I last spoke with Peter Gothard, a senior partner with the receivers, Ferrier Hodgson.
Apparently the contract for the sale (57 pages of it!) has been signed and Gothard says the buyer has requested no names released until money changes hands. Will it happen soon, like tomorrow?
As Peter Gothard said when asked that very question, 'You’re guess is as good as mine.'
Well, life goes on, with or without Mustang.
Plenty of news from the fishing and racing scene and the industry.
There’s some good news for the marine industry on the Gold Coast; three marine organisations have been honoured in the annual Gold Coast Business Excellence awards.
The top ‘gongs’ went to Telwater, of Quintrex/Stacer fame, the Gold Coast City Marina and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which took out the tourism and hospitality award not just for 2007, but for the fourth time in succession!
All the news, all the time on Powerboat-World.
