Roads and Maritime Services have granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of a rowing regatta on the Clarence River this weekend (28-29 January).
Maritime Services Regional Manager North Coast James Green said boaters should avoid the river from 6am to 6pm on both days. 'This area will be marked by buoys and be used exclusively for the safe staging of a Grafton Rowing Club rowing regatta,' Mr. Green said.
'For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.'
Mr Green said unauthorised vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
