Fresh off the bck of the AFTA Fishing & Tackle Show on the Gold Coast, Kevin Barr from BarzOptics says he is focusing his efforts for the rest of the year on the US and locating a distributor there and in Canada.

'I am starting to pull back on the trade only shows – optical, fishing, outdoor, marine. They are not being supported by retailers, who are not turning up to look and buy. BLA is now distributing for me so I am happy to jump on their booths instead. BLA will be exhibiting in Auckland and at most of the major shows.'

Next on the agenda for Kevin is the Newport Rhode Island International Boat Show, 14-18 Sept, Annapolis Sail Show 6-10 October then METS in November.

'We went to METS last year for the first time in four years and picked up Netherlands, Norway, Belgium and Italy. Our US salses have been growing, hence my focus on finding new distributors in the US and in Canada, and then finalising them during METS.'
