Boston Whaler hooks onto worldwide tournament

'Lifestyle Marine will showcase the Boston Whaler 345 Conquest at Sydney Boat Show.'    Boston Whaler

So you’re cleaning up at the local fishing club, but how would you fair on the world stage?

Boston Whaler is giving anglers a chance to be a small fish in a big pond by hosting an online FishTopia fishing tournament exclusively on its Facebook page.

The promotion began on July 18 and runs to September 22, 2011.

In an effort to encourage anglers from all areas of the world to participate, the tournament will comprise six fish species categories: Red Fish, Mahi, Striped Bass, Crappie, Salmon and Tuna.

Simply download the official FishTopia photo entry card from Boston Whaler’s Facebook page then choose your fish species category and snap a photo of your prized fish with the fish weight and entry card clearly visible in the photo.

At the end of the tournament, each angler’s top five heaviest fish will be combined for an overall weight total. A first and second place winner for each category will be chosen based on fish weight. Anglers will be able to see how their catch measures up to the competition with the online leader board.

First prize is a 16GB Apple iPad 2 with Wi-Fi, second place gets a pair of Sebago shoes.

Smaller models like the 15 Montauk will also be on display. -  Boston Whaler

Dealer Lifestyle Marine will have a wide range of boats on display at Sydney International Boat Show, including some of the smaller Boston Whalers like the 15 Montauk and a 17 Sport.

Look, too, for the Boston Whaler 345 Conquest powered by triple 275hp Mercury Verado outboards worth $530,000.
