Sydney International Boat Show - just the tonic for industry!
|
It's one month today until the doors open on the 44th Sydney International Boat Show and exhibitor applications are still flowing in, says Domenic Genua, marketing and events manager, who says the BIA and organising team has gone over and above all previous efforts to attract quality crowds to this year's event. 'The industry is doing it tough, there's no doubt about that. Hopefully, the Sydney boat show will provide the boost that's needed right before summer to push business along. We have gone to infinite effort this year in our line-up of activities and entertainment, and it must have worked because we're sold out!' All six halls and the promenade are filled with exhibitors, and the marina is filling fast, with bookings for 'three monster boats' accepted just this morning, according to Genua. 'The showstopper this year, or one of many, will be the 87ft Warren superyacht charter Ghost, which is black and really a sight to behold.' While the focus will remain 'education and entertainment', Genua says many of the traditional aspects of the show will be reworked, including the Musto extravaganza! 'We have ditched the models and have dancers from the Sydney Dance Company presenting five different themes in Musto apparel. It's really going to turn heads!' A Marine Education Centre will show students and visitors to the show the range of career choices, vocational options a development courses that the BIA NSW offers, and that are available in the broader marine industry. 'There will be a lot in store for every kind of visitor, catering to all interests and skills levels, from photography competition and display, to on-water trials and high profile speakers,' explains Genua. 'The heroes of the show are the boats and all the gear that help Australian’s enjoy this favourite family pastime. This year the Sydney International Boat Show once again has a line up of interesting, talented and inspirational speakers and personalities to entertain and educate the boating enthusiast or novice. Activities galore will also be held to inspire everyone from a young child to a retiree to get more involved in recreational boating.' A detailed program of events will be published later in the week! More at www.sydneyboatshow.com.au
