A new portal has been launched for the the global superyacht community to access information on Queensland's cruising grounds and refit capabilities, a major boost for the state's and Australia's profile as a superyacht destination.
The Hon Peta-Kaye Croft, Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Premier on the Gold Coast launched the Queensland Superyacht portal www.superyachtsqueensland.com at the Australia Superyacht and Marine Export Conference on Tuesday 17 May.
She was enthusiastic about the portal which will provide excellent exposure for the serious iconic attractions that Queensland offers.
The Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX 2011) held immediately prior to Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show attracted delegates from the USA, UK, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, China, NZ, Thailand, Ireland and across all states of Australia.
The focus of the conference was to highlight the issues facing the Australian Superyacht and Marine Export sector and to profile Australia and the Asia Pacific region as an idyllic cruising destination for Superyachts and an extremely attractive alternative to traditional cruising grounds.
The portal is a significant step forward for the Queensland Superyacht Sector, providing a one-stop-shop for Captains and Owners who want to cruise in Queensland. It also highlights the Queensland Superyacht sector capacity and capability for Superyacht maintenance and refits.
The Queensland Government and Gold Coast City Council were strong supporters of the Australia Superyacht and Marine Export Conference.
