Super auction for superyacht
|
That man Adrian Seiffert, CEO of Marine Auctions, has topped his previous impressive efforts by presenting for sale what is believed to be the largest and most expensive superyacht ever to be offered at an Australian auction. The superyacht in question is ‘Masteka 2’, a glamorous and luxurious 37.2-metre (122-feet) Monte Fino built in the company’s respected shipyards at Kha Shing, Taiwan, in 2009. With a design heritage from Dubois Naval Architects and Rhodes Young Design, ‘Masteka 2’ has been constructed to extremely high standards with full expedition qualities. She offers luxurious and safe cruising for up to 12 guests and a crew of six. Powered by dual C32 Caterpillar Marine Diesels, each producing 1675hp, ‘Masteka 2’ boasts a range of 3700 nautical miles at 8.5 knots or 3000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Everything about this stunning vessel is first class. Naturally, her accommodations are superb; with a spacious 7.4-metres (24-feet) beam, ‘Masteka 2’ offers all the comforts of home. She has four VIP guest suites, all with LCD television and en-suites and a full beam master suite that even includes a small study and a marble en-suite complete with Jacuzzi. Her main deck includes an aft deck dining table to seat 10 with fabulous lounge seating and a formal dining room within, all boasting distinctive furnishings and fittings and modulated lighting. That’s not all…..above there’s the sky lounge, complete with a well-fitted out wet bar, a 120-inch drop-down screen for movie viewing and a comprehensive Dolby sound system.

For the sport minded guests on board there are two life-boat approved Castoldi tenders, each with 125hp diesel jet drives to go with a selection of diving and fishing equipment, dive compressors and assorted water sports accoutrements. The ‘Masteka 2’ engine room is superb; spotlessly clean, is has two Onan 65 KVa Generators, Sea Recovery Aqua Whispers water makers, air conditioning, bow thrusters and zero speed stabilisers. Advanced Van Cappellen sound proofing, anti-vibration and plumbing installations all add to a trouble-free and comfortable voyage for those aboard.

With a maximum speed of 18.3 knots and a rated cruising speed of 14 knots, ‘Masteka 2’ is no slouch at the fuel pump; she carries 23,000-litres of diesel and 5500 litres of fresh water. Original price for ‘Masteka 2’ is believed to be in excess of $20 million. According to Adrian Seiffert, this auction represents a great opportunity for any potential boat buyer, as many later model vessels are being auctioned at around 50 percent of their original retail price 'Here is the opportunity for an astute buyer to acquire a near new superyacht for well under half its replacement cost,' he said. This magnificent example of the boat builder’s art will go under the hammer at Runaway Bay Marina, on the Queensland Gold Coast, on Saturday, May 21. Prospective buyers can also inspect the vessel at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on Thursday (May 19) and Friday (May 20) prior to the auction.
