Billed as the largest conference for the American superyacht industry, the American Superyacht Forum will return to Fort Lauderdale after a six-year hiatus.

The American Superyacht Forum will be held over three days at the Hilton Marina along the Intracoastal Waterway, May 16-18.

Fort Lauderdale is one of the marine industry's epicenters, but faced the challenge of redevelopment of waterfront locations during the real estate boom. The city is known for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which encompasses more than 3 million square feet of space at six sites, according to Marine Industries Association of South Florida.

The ninth American Superyacht Forum is expected to involve 300 industry decision-makers and influencers, including shipyard managers, designers, captains, bankers, brokers and lawyers, a news release said. It will be hosted by The Yacht Report Group and organized by Superyacht Events.

'After years of hosting the American Superyacht Forum at a fine selection of yachting hubs throughout America, we have decided to bring the event to the home of American yachting, Fort Lauderdale,' The Yacht Report Group Chairman Martin Redmayne said in the news release. 'This will enable us to scale up the event, with increased attendance, fantastic and original networking opportunities, and excellent conference programming.'

The event had also previously been held in Rhode Island and Seattle.
