Williams jet tenders touch down in Australia

'Williams was the first company to build 4-stroke jet tenders and today is acknowledged as the world leader in jet tenders.'    Harbourside Media
The Williams range of jet propelled inflatable tenders needs little introduction within European motoryacht circles, but here in Australia the brand may be a little less familiar. Williams Performance Tenders are now being distributed nationwide by Sirocco Marine, so you can expect to see more of these surface to air missiles rocketing across the water and slipping snugly into motoryacht garages.

UK manufacturer Williams was the first company to build 4-stroke jet tenders and today is acknowledged as the world leader in jet tenders. With centre mounted engines, Williams Turbojet powered tenders are easier to fit into the garages of motoryachts and a breeze to mount onto the stern or foredeck of power and sail boats. Williams Performance Tenders have a lower draft than comparable outboard-equipped models, making them ideal for shallow waters. For families, a jet engine also means no propeller danger, making these tenders safer to operate around young children.

Mounting the engine in the centre allows higher horsepower engines to be fitted than with outboard equipped tenders. In fact the 2.85m model is the only inflatable under 3 metres that can tow a waterskiier.

Speed is one thing, style is something else. These sleek-looking gleaming white tenders would compliment the finest craft.

The 5-model Williams range begins with a nimble 2.85m craft and extends to a 5.05 m tender which seats 7 adults. Power is supplied by a potent 98 horsepower Turbojet Weber engine. As for acceleration, the T325 for instance launches from standstill to 20 knots in just 4 seconds with the 98hp petrol engine. The largest model in the range the 5.05D is powered by a quiet Turbojet diesel for more relaxed running and impressive fuel economy.

To see them for yourself, the official launch of the Williams range will be at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2011. Or to find out more, simply head for your nearest Sirocco Marine outlet in most capital cities, or log onto www.siroccomarine.com to view the full range.
