Organisations wanting to improve their local fishing are encouraged to submit project proposals for the 2010/11 Recreational Fishing Grants Program.

Small grants are available all year round for projects up to $5,000, whilst large grant applications are welcomed until 31 March 2011 for projects between $5,000 and $100,000 in one or more of the following categories:
• Fisheries’ sustainability and habitat improvement
• Fishing access and facilities
• Fisheries-related education, information and training
• Recreational fisheries-related research
The Recreational Fishing Grants Program has funded over 350 projects worth more than $13.7 million, since 2001.
The 2010/11 Recreational Fishing Grants Program is open to fishing clubs, community groups, incorporated bodies, registered companies and government and statutory bodies.
