Boat Awards Launched in India

'Cochin Harbour'   

It's a sign that the Indian Boating Industry is coming of age: India's inaugural International Boating Awards (IBA) will be held at this year's Boat India 08, December 14-16 in Cochin, India.

Held at the Meridien Hotel right after the Volvo Ocean Race, the awards will run alongside an international conference in the Taj Residency. Some of the presenters who have already confirmed their presence include Germanischer Lloyd (Germany), Maharashtra Maritime Board (India), Brunswick Asia Pacific Group (Singapore), IMC (Germany), Boattest (US), DIAB Technologies (Australia), Navico Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Albatross Marine Design Co Ltd (Thailand) and HELMEPA (Greece).

IBA 08 is now inviting nominations for the following award categories:

Best Mega Yacht Builder (over 100ft)
Best Boat Builder
Best Mega Yacht (over 100ft)
Best Motor Yacht (40ft-100ft)
Yacht Club of the Year
Best Charter Company
Best Yacht Broker
Best Engine Manufacturer
Best Yacht Management Services
Boating and Yachting Personality of the Year
Best Boating Association,
Most Innovative Interior - Yacht Design of the Year
Most Innovative Exterior - Yacht Design of the Year
The Boating Education Advancement Award
Safeguarding the Environment Award
Best Yacht Paint
Best Boating Media
Innovative Product
Marina of the Year
Best Boating Video
