Southern Sydney dealership Webbe Marine has been named 2008 Dealer of the Year by Honda Marine.

Honoured for outstanding sales success and dealer excellence, the dealership, which now specialises in catamaran power boats, was delighted to receive the award and the prized opportunity to visit Japan and tour the Honda manufacturing facility.

Cat-style boats have been the company’s retail staple since the business cut back on its previous list of boating brands in 2006 to focus on just two, Sailfish and Glacier Bay.

Choosing Honda four-stroke outboards exclusively came as result of Webbe Marine co-director Gavan Daly believing they were “the perfect choice” for the twin hull designs.

“We have been a Honda dealer for several years now, and the company’s four-stroke engines are renowned for their build quality, quiet operation, smooth performance and fuel efficiency,” Daly explained.

“These attributes appeal to our customers and we have the confidence that our boats will perform at their best with a Honda at the transom,” he added.

Webbe Marine covers both fibreglass (Glacier Bay) and aluminium (Sailfish) fans with the boats on offer, each selected for superb offshore performance and quality of finish.

Both have found favour with customers seeking a boat able to handle the often turbulent conditions found offshore along the eastern seaboard.

Each range can be single or dual engine powered, with Honda able to supply power ranging from the BF90hp VTEC through to the top of the range BF225hp V6.

“There is an engine suitable to power ever model we stock and still deliver on economy, quiet operation and Honda’s legendary four-stroke reliability,” Daly added.
