Aussie Boat Sales lets the dogs out

Aussie Boat Sales and Honda Australia put their corporate alliances to good use during this month’s BIA Melbourne Boat Show in support of the Western Bulldogs Football Club’s Kids Program and the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association (AVCGA).

Also joining forces with Mackay Trailers, Aussie Boat Sales and Honda donated a 5.5m fibreglass boat/motor/trailer package for the AFL football club to auction off for Kids Program funding.

The Western Bulldogs’ community division runs nearly 30 programs on behalf of the club, including a children’s match visit program and player meet and greet for young footy fans.

For the second year running, Aussie Boat Sales’ (Melbourne) Scott O’Hare also coordinated the donation of 100 Melbourne Boat Show tickets for the Western Bulldogs’ school holiday program.

Mr O’Hare said he hoped that witnessing all the excitement of boating-related activities at the show would inspire children to lead active lifestyles.

“There’s a liquid playground right here in our backyards – activities such as fishing, skiing and wakeboarding can have a very positive impact on young lives and provide a healthy alternative to television and video games,” he said.

To demonstrate the club’s gratitude, Bulldog legend and wakeboarding enthusiast Scott West, along with team mate Cameron White, also presented Honda partner AVCGA with a framed, autographed football jersey. Along with a Honda BF15 four-stroke outboard, the AFL collector’s item will be raffled off to raise funds for AVCGA.

Serving the boating public for close to 50 years, the AVCGA is comprised entirely of volunteers and has returned thousands of stranded or lost boaters home safely. Honda’s ongoing support will ensure the organisation continues its commendable work.
