Try a Motor Sailer holiday in the Whitsundays

There are a large number of bare boat charter yachts in the Whitsundays. Now power boaters can charter a very spacious luxury motor sailer from Whitsunday Rent A Yacht as well as a range of motor boats as Deni Linforth explains.

We are constantly upgrading our fleet to introduce the latest in charter boats.

Following a recent visit to the Beneteau factory in France, where orders were placed , the Whitsunday Rent A Yacht team are very excited about their latest acquisitions, the ultimate in luxury, space and comfort in charter boat vessels, the Beneteau Lagoon 420 sailing catamarans.

The first of which joins our existing large fleet of yachts, catamarans and motor cruisers based in the Whitsundays, will arrive in September 2008 in time for commencement of the spring season in the Whitsundays.

These luxurious 42ft catamarans offer you the choice of sailing or motoring, as we have chosen to fit 2 x 75 hp diesel engines therefore the vessel is not only a sailing catamaran, but is also adequately powered for those that prefer to motor or even motor sail.

Under motor alone and under normal conditions you should be able to effortlessly cruise and explore the our tropical Whitsunday Islands at 10 knots.

The charter version which is joining our fleet offers four spacious double cabins featuring queen size beds, each with full private bathroom facilities.

The well appointed galley with all mod. cons means there’s plenty of facilities to assist you with the preparation of your gourmet meals whilst on board.

Note that the galley is located on the bridge deck between the saloon and rear deck and is separated only by a sliding window and so avoiding those “on galley duty” from missing out on all the fun.

The smartly designed saloon extends gracious living into the cockpit and rear deck. With a comfortable seating and dining area, simply relaxing, enjoying the scenery or dining under the stars are just a few of the pleasures one can expect when chartering this great boat

The helm position is located in the same area so the helmsperson is also close to the action.

These boats are also fitted with the latest equipment for your comfort and pleasure including air conditioning, flat screen TV, DVD and CD .

As the relaxed atmosphere in the Whitsundays stimulates healthy appetites, fresh food and cool drinks are an essential part of a successful charter. There is more than adequate refrigeration provided including two 130lt refrigerators, one in the galley and the other on the rear deck, as well as a 35lt freezer which will make ice or keep your frozen goods at the correct temperature.

And to complement your outdoor dining a gas barbeque is fitted to the stern of the vessel.

Under sail the skipper will find that the Beneteau Lagoon 420 is easy to handle as all sheets run back to the helm position and there is an electric winch to assist with hoisting the mainsail..

Additional equipment for safety and convenience includes Raymarime instruments and an Autohelm plus wind, speed and depth sounder.

… can you imagine the sheer pleasure at the helm of your own charter boat as you glide amongst the exotic islands of the Whitsundays, located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef in sunny Queensland?
