Australia’s leading luxury boat builder, Riviera, has expanded its operations in an agreement with custom boat builder Azzura Marine.

The two companies have signed a three-year agreement under which Riviera will have exclusive access to Azzura’s labour force, facility and infrastructure in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, initially to build the company’s new Riviera 70 Enclosed Flybridge and continue development of the growing range of Riviera models.

Riviera CEO Wes Moxey said: 'We have experienced strong demand for new products both in Australia and in our overseas markets. The company is undertaking an expansion program but we do not want to rush. Our new flagship Riviera 70 is a major project and needs the resources and expertise that Azzura Marine offers. We have always had a very close relationship with Azzura Marine and this new arrangement will assist both of us to grow our businesses.'

'Our New Product Development facility that undertook early development of the 70 is working at its limit now with our aggressive new model roll-out program, producing one new model every 90 days. The first of our new Offshore Express line, the 48, will be unveiled at Fort Lauderdale in the United States later this week, we will launch a new 38 Open Flybridge early in the New Year and we will have a new 61 Enclosed Flybridge at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May next year.'

Azzura Marine Chairman Iain Murray said: 'We are delighted to be able to work more closely with Riviera. We have been involved with Riviera on a number of development projects in the past, including early development of the Riviera 70, so we are familiar with what customers expect from their products. Our team of highly skilled and experienced trades-people understand quality and are looking forward to continuing to apply world class construction to this new project'

'The timing of this venture works well with Azzura Marine’s long-term goals' he said. 'It allows us to focus on other areas of our business including continued construction of production and custom sailing and motor yachts at our Nowra facility and our expansion into Super Yachts in Newcastle early in the New Year.'
