The 2012 Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is sure to remain in people’s memories as one of the most exciting events on the calendar!

Each year, the Show brings together an amazing collection of boats – luxury cruisers, yachts, ski boats, fishing boats, dinghies and kayaks – plus all the latest in accessories and electronics, fishing gear, camping gear and much more. This year, there’ll be more new releases on show than ever before including the new design Quintrex, plus other boats such as the re-release of the Webster Twin Fisher and Striper Boats – and many more!

However visitors to the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show know that it is more than a trade show, and this year the entertainment has been taken up a level to include awesome attractions, special guests, activities and fun for the whole family!

Show organisers are excited to be welcoming a special guest to this year’s Show, with Channel 7 presenter Tom Williams (The Great Outdoors) appearing each day at the Show.

Tom was an ideal choice for the Show, given his experiences working in The Great Outdoors, plus his love of the water.

'There is nothing I like more than being by the ocean and in the water,' Tom said. 'I grew up living near the water and still live by the beach. I surf every day and get out on my kayak three or four times a week. I’ve been a member of Surf Lifesaving for the past 20 years and really enjoy boating, particularly in the ocean.'

'I love being outdoors and out on the water; and I’m looking forward to coming to the Mandurah Boat Show and chatting to people who share a love of the water,' he said.

Aside from his hobbies in surfing and kayaking, Tom has also had plenty of camping experience in the outback, and is sure to share his stories with audiences at the Show. Show Director Peter Woods said he was excited to have Tom as special guest at the Show this year and said that he was well suited to promote the theme of this year’s event, which was tailored around getting back to basics and enjoying the outdoor water lifestyle.

'What we have always tried to promote at the Mandurah Boat Show is that Western Australia has amazing waterways, and we should all be encouraged to get out there and use them,' Peter said.

'Tom Williams has spent much of his career promoting outdoor leisure and will come to the Show this year armed with plenty of stories that will hopefully inspire people to get outdoors.'

Peter said that the inclusion of Tom Williams at this year’s show will help in promoting boating lifestyle in Western Australia. He said the industry has faced a few difficulties in recent times, and it was up to events such as these to encourage and promote boating and water leisure activities, and get more people involved.

The theme of the 2012 Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is all about encouraging people to get involved and to try something new. The Show’s entertainment has been designed with this idea in mind and visitors are sure to be impressed by the new and improved features of the 2012 Show.

Featuring Club Marine chef Bart Beek’s cooking demonstrations. This year, Bart is cooking up some fantastic Spanish tapas, which are easily made and can be prepared and cooked on the back of a boat. Bart will be presenting his cooking demonstrations five times per day across the weekend.

Fashion parades featuring amazing styles from local designers, plus Show exhibitors. Product reviews – there’s no better place to check out the latest gadgets and hear from the experts on how they work!

As in previous years, the Western Angler Fishing Stage will be a huge attraction. The Engel Aquatank will be there and fishing demonstrations will be held continually across the weekend. Hodgie the Barefoot Fisherman will be back, plus fishing writers Scott Coghlan and Mike Roennfeldt. There’ll be fish filleting demonstrations, info on lures and knot tying, and so much more!

A new boating demonstration area will be set up, where audiences can come along to watch regular boating demos and learn the basics of how to drive a boat. The Department of Transport will be there to give presentations and information on boat safety and skipper’s tickets.

See the amazing Jetpack for the first time demonstrated in WA! No other flying device even comes close to the water powered Jetpack. Using the power of water, riders can really fly and reach up to 10 metres into the sky. The ride is safe as you are suspended on cables; and you’ll experience a thrill as you fly over deep open water with the assurance that it is one of the safest power sports ever invented.

The Jetpa k Adventure will be demonstrated at the Boat Show all weekend. And make sure you bring your bathers to the Show this year so you can have a go on the Aquaslides! A massive water playground will be set up for kids to enjoy all weekend long. Just come down and sign up for your turn!

If you’ve never been out on a kayak, here’s your chance! Finn Kayaks will be setting up kayak rides from the beach, and anyone can have a go. Kayaking is a great sport and is fun for the whole family. Visit the Finn Kayak display on the beach and have a ride!

Get kids involved in fishing with the all-new Kid’s Casting Competition. The competition aims to get kids involved, to teach skills, and to have fun! Competition is open to children up to age 12 years. A special Kid’s Casting area will be set up with targets, and participants can win great prizes. Simply register your name to enter the competition, have a go at hitting the targets, and see how good your casting skills are. Plus you can even try to 'out cast' Hodgie the Barefoot Fisherman!

New this year, some of the most amazing vehicles you will ever see will be on display thanks to Barbagallo. Come down and admire the Supercar Promenade, you won’t be disappointed!

It all happens this October!

The Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is now in its 12th year and is held at the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club at the award winning Mandurah Ocean Marina.

The Show is the third biggest boat show in Australia, with more than 200 exhibitors annually displaying more than 650 boats; and attracting 20,000 boating enthusiasts over the three days.

The prospectus is available now for those interested in exhibiting, and can be downloaded from the website www.mandurahboatshow.com.au Further information can be obtained by calling (08) 9386 9666 or email info@mandurahboatshow.com.au
