Class 1 - Victory 3 fastest in Dubai Grand Prix qualifying

Arif Al Zafeen and Mohammed Al Marri will start race 1 of the Skydive Dubai & Dubai Duty Free Grand Prix in pole position after setting the fastest time in this morning’s official qualifying.

Third place for Spirit of Qatar 95’s Ali Al Neama and Matteo Nicolini, finishing just behind their teammates, was enough to clinch the Edox Pole Position Championship for the Qatari-Italian duo.

It was an emphatic performance and statement by Victory 3’s ‘scratch’ pairing who clearly have not given up on looking to try to retain the team’s World title, with Al Zafeen and Al Marri posting the fastest time of the session – 2m 45.50s – on their first flying lap, to edge out their arch-rivals Spirit of Qatar 96 by almost three seconds.

Poliform continued to impress coming in in fourth place, with Giorgio Manuzzi and Pal Virik Nilsen running in Victory 7 bouncing back after a disappointing day yesterday to complete the top five.
