Yachting NSW is conducting a Dinghy Instructor and Powerboat Handling Course.

Participants will be trained to the YA Instructor and Powerboat Handling Syllabus.

Monday 18th April (9am – 4.30pm)
Tuesday 19th April (8.30am – 4.30pm)
Wednesday 20th April (8.30am – 4.30pm)
Thursday 21st April (8.30am - 4.30pm)
Saturday 14th MAY (9am – 4.30pm)
Participants should be competent in driving a powerboat and hold a NSW Maritime Recreational Powerboat License. Participants should be 15 years of age (or in year 10 at school)
What to bring:
Participants should bring pens and paper to theory activities.
Participants are required to undertake practical training activities and are required to bring appropriate sailing gear (wetsuit/booties/gloves/PFD), a warm set of clothes (spare) and apparel suitable for conducting training whilst operating a powerboat (jacket etc).
Lunch is provided during the course – breakfast/snacks etc are participants responsibility. Please indicate food allergies during the registration process to ensure suitable catering is available
Participants will need provide evidence that they have completed the Senior First Aid Certificate and Powerboat Handling Certificate to gain accreditation as a YA Instructor.
Participants will need to be assessed as competent to receive the awards, attendance does not ensure accreditation.
Participants will be awarded the YA Assistant Instructor Award until assessed as competent.
Assessment opportunities outside of the course will be available for free (once pre-arranged) at the YNSW Winter Training Program. Assessments outside of this program may incur a small fee arranged with the Instructor Assessor.
