Australia’s largest Laser dealership NB Laser Sales of West Gosford NSW started by Michael Mills and then continued by Kevin Winchester has now been acquired by another passionate dinghy sailor.
Rob McMillan, three time British Finn champion and now long-time Australian, has announced that Finnport Pty Ltd. has acquired the West Gosford NSW based Laser dealership.
The Managing Director of Finnport's is aiming to continue the high standard of service delivered to Laser sailors by the NB Laser Sales team.
McMillan explains ‘We are passionate about single-handed sailing, about international classes, and about youth sailing and the Lasers.
‘NB Laser Sales is a great business and Michael and Kevin did a fantastic job of starting and building that business to a really strong reputation - in the local and international market. I have known them both for a long time and when the business became available, it was a perfect fit with our Finn activities.
‘NB will continue to trade as it always have providing an exceptional level of service for Laser and RS boats, Kevin will be helping us transition the business over the next few months. Finn's will continue as the prime focus of our holding company Finnports, along with the new Devoti products.
‘Laura Baldwin and Henry Bagnall will join our team shortly and will further improve the range of advice and support we can provide to our customers.
‘Laura is a former Olympian for Team GBR and is now a member of the Australian Sailing Development Squad. She is currently in the UK and was the leading Australian in the Womens Laser Radial Worlds. Henry is a former top level Team GBR Finn sailor and accomplished keel boat racer having just finished sixth in the Dragon Europeans and J80 Europeans, both are qualified coaches too'.
NB Laser and Finnports are providing both Laser and Finn charter boats for all the upcoming Sail Downunder series, the Perth International Regatta, Australian Laser and OAMPS Youth Nationals. NB has established as reputation for providing great support at regattas and this looks set to continue with more resources being pumped into the operation.
