Team BioMax entry in the Australian Offshore Challenge, Bass Strait Rally, engaged in a ‘Challenge’ before the event even started!
Another kind of Straight - Crossing the Nullabor Straight on the way to Bass Strait - Australian Offshore Challenge
Being based in Perth WA, the 26ft Scarab needed to be transported to the East Coast before the trip down to Hobart for the start of the event on 23rd February.
Queensland based Co-driver/Navigator Adrian Bright volunteered to fly over to Perth and take owner/driver Campbell Durrant’s new V8 diesel Land-Cruiser and trail the three and a half tonne load across to Melbourne. Picking the moment when 43 degree temperatures were hitting the Nullarbor Plain and Cyclones were hitting his home in Queensland, he emerged unscathed through both!
'It took from Friday night to Tuesday morning to make the trip without a problem', says Adrian. 'Campbell and I are really looking forward to this; we need to do a little more preparation on the boat but if the event goes anything like as well for us as the delivery to Melbourne, we will be more than happy'.
The team is proud to confirm sponsorship from BioMax Wastewater Recycling Systems, a successful West Australian manufacturer of wastewater treatment plants, suited to commercial or private communities. The system conserves water use through treatment of sewage and wastewater to a quality exceeding the WHO standard for irrigation.
