Sanctuary Cove attracts a new generation of exhibitors

As the exhibitor bookings roll in prior to Christmas and the end of the year break, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is pleased to welcome at least 10 new exhibitors so far for the 26th edition of the event in 2014.

Among them is Noble Boats International, which is taking space for the first time following 'dipping a toe in' at the 2013 show with distributor, Marine Auctions.

'We have booked larger space under the Noble brand on the Promenade for next year’s show,' says Jason Lee from Noble Boats. 'We had a good experience this year and decided to exhibit with more models on display.'

Lee plans to bring a 6m, centre console trailer boat with plate aluminium hull, a bright yellow, deep V-hull 3m RIB in commercial survey, a 4.2m dinghy and a couple of flat-floor aluminium inflatable boats, which range in size from 3m to 3.8m.

'We want to raise the profile of the Noble brand, which is an Australian company and Australian-designed boat built in China. They are extremely hardy and built for Australian conditions. Our boats suit the lifestyle boater – anglers and families. Sanctuary Cove Boat Show will be ideal for reaching these markets.'

Another first-timer is Matthew Gordon from Smartboat, who will be launching his invention in Queensland at the boat show, exhibiting in A Pavilion.

'It’s a GPS monitoring device that checks all a boat’s systems while it’s unattended,' Gordon explains. 'It checks the bilge, boat’s location, all the vital systems and has a built-in camera that sends images back every half hour. It is iPhone, iPad and Android compatible and retails for $999.'

Smartboat can be configured to provide real-time alerts via email or SMS or to simply log and monitor the information coming from your vessel.

Gordon’s background is IT and networking electronics. He teamed up with a boat builder to create the Smartboat, which he thinks will be the ideal product for the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Though a first-timer to SCIBS, Gordon has shown Smartboat at the Hobart Wooden Boat Festival and at the Melbourne Summer Boat Show with excellent response. 'We chose Sanctuary Cove Boat Show because we now want to make inroads in to the Queensland market and we are seeking a distributor in Queensland. SCIBS will help us reach consumers as well as the trade market we’re targeting.'

Ausclimate Compact Dehumidifier -  Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

Also exhibiting in A Pavilion is Russell Bryan, launching the marine version of the Ausclimate Compact Dehumidifier. No stranger to large shows, such as the Brisbane home show and other major events, this will be his first boat show.

'We found a gap in the market and we are eager to fill it,' he says of the product, which has enjoyed plenty of success as a result of word of mouth and as a by-product of exceptional performance on the home front.

'The compact dehumidifier works by removing excess moisture in cabins and closed off areas – ideal for boats of all sizes. It’s portable and powerful. The small model can remove 12 Litres of moisture in an area up to 20m². If you think of an average sized bedroom, which is 16m², with home ceiling height, that is a large space. It’s top quality. The manufacturer in Taiwan has produced eight million of these units in the past 25 years. There’s nothing like it on the market.'

This little dynamo retails for $339, and Bryan states he will be offering good deals on the product, including free delivery nationwide if people don’t wish to take it with them and service available seven days per week.

'We are an internet business, so we offer free delivery. Sanctuary Cove Boat Show will allow us to have direct contact with our market, as we expand in to the marine segment. It’s an education process and we can show people how it works and its many advantages.'

Head of Events at Sanctuary Cove, Johan Hasser said the new exhibitors would add to the compelling mix of products and services at the 2014 Sanctuary International Boat Show.

'We are thrilled to have so many new brands and products coming on board for next year’s event,' said Mr Hasser.

'So far, they are from all facets of the marine industry, all extremely innovative and great additions to the array of goods visitors will be able to see and experience next year.'

The 2014 show program is already shaping up to be a winning combination of activities and demonstrations. For exhibitors, there will be more networking and social events, the same great atmosphere and 9am to 5pm show hours to allow exhibitors to close the deal over dinner or a drink, renew old acquaintances, or see the sights the Gold Coast is famous for.

'We strongly encourage companies or individuals wishing to exhibit in 2014 to go online and secure their space before Christmas to ensure their preferences,' said Mr Hasser.

Sponsored by Club Marine, the 2014 SCIBS will run from May 22 to 25.
