Powerboat GP confirms 2014 season calendar

'Season opener'    Powerboat GP
Powerboat GP have now confirmed their 2014 season calendar including the return of the historic ‘Chasewater’ venue.

New teams, new faces and new boats are all ready and eager to join the hugely successful Powerboat GP series as the competition heats up with everyone aiming to be crowned with the prestigious RYA British Championship titles.

The thrilling spectacle that is the Powerboat GP series is back, bigger and better than ever in 2014 with a five round British Championship series in addition to the annual RYA Sprint Championships that will be held in Bedford on the 02-03 August.

No less than seven classes, ranging from the junior categories up to the mighty 120mph plus F2 class catamarans, will be competing for honours as they go all out to win the RYA British Championship titles. Covering venues in areas such as Lancashire, Lowestoft, Bedford and Birmingham, the series can be enjoyed by a whole host of powerboat racing fans.

If that's not enough to whet your appetite, then why not visit the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham on the 30-31 August, as Powerboat GP will once again return to the popular venue to stage an international racing extravaganza that will include a round of the UIM World F4s Series, the UIM OSY400 and GT15 European Championships and some entertaining club class racing.

Series promoter, Jason Brewer commented: '2014 will see Powerboat GP enter its third year and we are delighted that we continue to grow in participation numbers and popularity.

'This year will be a significant time for the new F4s catamarans and our continued commitment to ‘green classes’ and sustainable racing will reap some great rewards as we host the first ever UK round of the UIM F4s World Championships.'

TV’s Tiff Needell will be back with the Powerboat GP series tour, that will once again be broadcast on Sky Sports for the third year running.
