Welcome to the 18th edition of Sail-World.com's newsletter for the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series
Just over a ten days ago the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series finished in Auckland, amid scenes on and off that water that few will forget for a long time.
Since that time Sail-World has obtained a variety of material - both written and images which did not make the deadline for our last newsletter - sent the evening racing concluded.
In this, a magazine edition of Sail-World we present as much of these contributions as we can.
Several of these items are from the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series website, others are by Angus Phillips and Martin Tasker. There is also ONE Sport's video summary of the series.
And in a first for Sail-World - normally a hard-core racing publication, there is not one racing story in this newsletter!
Putting this edition together has taken some time, hence the delay in publication, and we trust you enjoy the contents. After all, who knows when we will see another event like this again, if ever.
|It's been six years since these three sat on the same media conference - when will be the next time, if ever? From left Bruno Trouble (Louis Vuitton), Russell Coutts (BMW Oracle) and Brad Butterworth (Alinghi) Richard Gladwell|
So, enjoy it while you can - and once again, our deep and sincere thanks to Louis Vuitton and all those who helped stage and competed in this fantastic regatta.
For those who want a lasting record of the event, don't forget to buy the Official Record of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series available at www.regattabook.com There you will also be able to preview the contents and a sample of the outstanding images.
