In a business environment that has seen many companies facing uncertainty about their ability to remain viable, Honda Australia’s Power Equipment & Marine division has remained strong with a positive outlook for the future. In order to support this growth, a number of key staff have recently been promoted.

According to Vikram Pawah, Honda’s General Manager, Power Equipment and Marine, the past year has certainly been one of the more interesting in the history of the company, with some areas of the business proving to be particularly successful.

'This has had a positive flow on effect in that it has allowed us to rethink how we conduct business,' Mr Pawah said.

'Like many global companies, we are trying out new ways to allocate our resources in order to further secure future growth. A natural move was for us to merge our Marine and OEM Sales and as a result we have some really exciting changes occurring from the start of the new year.'

Those new appointments include:

Peter Singleton who has been promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager, Power Equipment & Marine. In his new role, Peter will oversee core operations of the Division, in addition to offering support of strategic, regulatory, industry, and future business initiatives. Peter has extensive experience with Honda not only in Australia, but also through a three year stint served at Head Office in Japan. During his recent role as OEM Manager, Peter demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities and has tackled the challenges of the new wave of international competition head on.

Mark Suttle (pictured above) who is currently looking after the New South Wales territory for Marine, will relocate to Queensland and take up the role of Marine Territory Manager - QLD. Mark will also retain selected key Sydney metro accounts in addition to his new role.

'We are looking forward to another exciting year in 2010 and are really thrilled to have this very strong team of leaders in place,' Mr Pawah commented.
