Exclusive use granted for Clarence River (NSW)
|
NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of ski races on the Clarence River this weekend. RMS Maritime Acting Regional Manager North Coast Stephen Brown said boaters should keep clear of the river between Corcoran Pak, Kirchner Street in Grafton and about nine kilometres downstream between 8.30am and 5pm on both days. 'This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of the Big River Ski Club ski races,' Mr Brown said. 'For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.' Mr Brown said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer. Boating safety here
