The 78 foot bio-fuelled Earthrace is running up the Red Sea towards Port Suez, just over 3,000 miles from the finishline in Spain, but all is not sweet.

On Day 56, Earthrace has now travelled 21.298 nautical miles and is an amazing 3,300 miles ahead of the 1998 Cable & Wireless world record. Conditions have worsened slightly with a 1 to 1.5 metre sea on the nose, but that has not stopped Earthrace powering another 514 miles in the last 24 hours.

However Skipper Pete Bethune reports that they are having problems with the port engine. There appears to be a fuel blockage and they cannot push the engine beyond 40% load.

You can here Bethune's full report here.
