For the Easter Break we have clipped some shots from PredictWind to give you an idea of what the wind will be like around the Waitemata Harbour, using Bean Rock as a reference point. In the Graph View we can see that winds will be lighter for Friday and Saturday, increasing on Monday. Looking at the Regional view we can see an area of stronger wind advancing from the north, which gives rise to the stronger winds shown for Monday. | Friday 2 April PredictWind Strength for five days at Bean Rock - PredictWind.com | | Friday 2 April PredictWind Direction for five days at Bean Rock - PredictWind.com | The five-day graph also shows the direction through 360 degrees of the compass, with North being at the top and bottom of the page (well 0 degrees at the top and 359 degrees at the bottom), so as the wind shifts from 0358 to 002 we will see a line run up the page - this is what creates the 'N' effect even though there is only a small change in wind direction. Below are the Regional Views from Friday through to Monday taken at 1000hrs each morning. These show the development of wind systems around the North Island, and what we can expect. You can relate these to the graphs above. However as with all wind and weather systems these change on a daily basis, and you need your own subscription to PredictWind to track these changes properly. You can start the 30 day Free Trial by going to www.predictwind.com now - stay current for the Easter Break.
