Following last year’s successful show, at which Chaparral had the largest contingent of boats, Scott O’Hare is optimistic his range of Chaparrals, including the latest models in the SSx series and the all-rounder Robalo brand will strike a chord with visitors to the four-day event.
'From the first day, we already have about 10 trials booked for after the show,' reports dealer Principal, Scott O’Hare. 'And we qualify people too, asking all the right questions. By the time they book a sea trial, we know they’re ready to buy.'
This year’s Chaparral display will include two new boats from the SSX range that have not been seen in Queensland, with the 257SSx bowrider and the 285SSx Sports Cabin taking centre stage.
Joining them are the two new SSX models, xtreme wake boat, sunesta deck boat, premium bowriders, the ever popular 225SSi sports cabin and the exceptional entry level H2o sports and ski/fish models – 10 in all.
The first of the Robalo fishing and crossover boat range to hit Australia are also debuting at SCIBS.
Robalo boats have been a premium brand in the states since 1968 and currently hold the number #1 position in US with a 25% share of the fishing boat market from 18-30 feet. Robalo are imported by Chaparral Australia and will be largely sold through the existing Australia-wide network.
'The boats themselves are renowned for their quality finish and tough construction, but the Hydro Lift hull design is what really sets them apart. The unique hull offers an incredibly soft ride, with the added bonus of super-efficient fuel consumption. We reckon we will offer the best value for money fishing or crossover outboard boats on the market.'
The Robalo crossover range offers flexible cockpit layouts, built-in toilets and single or twin outboard transoms whilst retaining all of the performance characteristics and serious 'fishability' that Robalos are renowned for.
'The packages we are offering at Sanctuary Cove are designed to help us kick start the brand in Australia and will include red hot deals on pricing and extras. The R180 and R247 will be our feature boats for the show with more models rolling in over the next few months.'
From his impressions of the first day of SCIBS, O'Hare is upbeat. 'It was so hot today, we could have worn shorts! I hope the weather continues like this and we will definitely sell boats.'
The Chaparral and Robalo ranges are on display at stand MH6 on Masthead Way in the Sanctuary Cove village. More at www.chaparralaustralia.com.au
